Right at the nick of time I’m finally getting back on track with my 12 Weekends of Christmas series. Three months out of six ain’t so bad… right? (No, you are right, it’s rubbish. 50-50 isn’t a good result) So from here on out, it’s gonna be a few of these a month to make sure I hit my target of 12 posts before Christmas.
Today I have used the first ever item I bought from Concord & 9th, the Take A Bough tree die. As soon as I saw Angie making that first tree, I had to have it. HAD to. H-A-D to! I have made so many trees with it since my window will is overflowing. However, I haven’t made a single one in actual pine colours. How is that for ironic?
With the help of my marvellous Gemini Go diecutting machine, I got to work with three different shades of green card stock and the Take A Bough die. I made enough for two trees because why not?
After I had cut out all the pieces I needed, I used the Lawn Fawn gluetube to glue them all together. I use four pieces with the two biggest boughs to make a really thick and dense tree. When all the pieces were ready, I threaded them onto kebab sticks to make the two trees.
The base for the trees are slivers of wood, which I drilled holes into, filled with glue and stuck the sticks into. To make sure they stayed straight and upright, I held them in place while the glue set a bit.
There is a star die in the set and I cut out two pieces each out of gold and silver glitter foam. These two I glued together and added to the top of the trees, with more of the Lawn Fawn gluetube. With that, the trees were done!
I have got a YouTube video for the whole process too, if you want to check that out.
I have used a few compensated affiliate links in this post. What that means is that I get a small commission from the company directly if you use these links when shopping. At no extra cost to you!
Thanks for stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed this post, and the YouTube video, if you watched that.
Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica!
