Today is release day over at Picket Fence Studios!! This month’s release is dripping with caffeine, high buns and sassy sentiments!
As a big-bun-kind of gal myself, I immediately stamped up the American Bun stamp! Several times too. One I did in brown-ish hues, one in gray/black and one in what I kind of think my own hair looks like.
I’m trying to remember to take a photo of the colouring I’ve done with the Copics used, in case I want to get the same look another time. It’s very handy to snap a photo and use as a reference because we do we not know where our phones are?? Am I right?
The gray/black haired bun, I cut out using the coordinating diecut. While I had that out, I cut one out of foam sheet too, and layered these up. I love the solidity this gives to the image.
On the American Bun I had stamped and coloured directly onto a card base, I simply heat embossed one of the sentiments from ‘I Freaking Love You‘ to finish it off. It just happened to be the actual ‘I Freaking Love You’ sentiment. The embossing powder is Rose Gold from WOW! Embossing powder. The Black Hybrid Ink seen in the photo is the ink used to stamp up the image. It’s Copic friendly, amongst many other mediums.
This is a super simple and to the point card. I am kind of loving how it turned out, even though I’m not very good with white spaces usually.
For my second card I decided to use a stencil on the background, as I had already cut out the American Bun girl with the coordinating diecut. With a Life Changing Blender Brush that had a little bit of Squeezed Lemonade left on it, I blended Hickory Smoke over the Fashion Icon stencil.
With the leftover yellow ink on the Blender Brush, it created this fabulous shading! I’m so glad I tried this because I totally dig how it turned out.
That’s it from me for today but don’t forget to check out the rest of the DT’s blogs for new release cards and tons of inspiration!
