Yay! Let’s Party with Catherine Pooler

Hi guys!

I don’t know about you, but after a really rough few months dealing with a bad back episode, getting sick with Covid-19, quarantine and then shingles on top of everything, I’m so ready to, first of all get back to normal, and then party hard again. And by party, I mean crafting, of course! The latest release, Let’s Party, from Catherine Pooler is all about celebrations and I’m all for it!

You may know that I have this thing about repeat stamping? Well, it might not be a big surprise that I have made a few cards with this technique. In the Yay, Gifts! Stamp set, there is a really fun ‘YAY’ stamp and because I use that word all the time, I had to put it all over my cards. In fact, I’m a chronic over-user of the word Yay!

I made it overly difficult for myself by insisting on using my MISTI, but I got there in the end. I do think it would have been a LOT faster by just stamping with an acrylic block and a ruler to keep things straight.

The colours I used for both cards are Tiara, Orange Peel, Bellini, Coral Cabana, Samba and Rockin’ Red.

On the second card I made it somewhat simpler for myself, but not by much, in all honesty. Instead of mixing the colours up, I used one colour per row, to create a bit of an ombré look. Again, I should have just skipped the MISTI *INSERT OUTRAGED GASPS HERE* and used an acrylic block.

I do love how the ombré looks, compared to the one with the mixed colours. Don’t forget, this is so easy to switch up to suit the recipient too. There are so many gorgeous colours to choose from in the ink range.

To finish off the cards, I used the same YAY stamp, and heat embossed it in Opaque Bright White on black card stock. Six times. I was in an enthusiastic mood, I guess, lol! These are then cut out using the coordinating diecut.

I used a little bit of Press’n’Seal to make things easy for myself, for once with these cards, to pick up the heat embossed YAYs and add adhesive on the back. Then it was a quick job to add them back to the card and make sure they dried flat.

I think these cards turned out so fun, and the fab thing is that they can be used for so many things: birthdays, graduations, new job, achievements worth celebrating or just some fab news. I have a video over on my YouTube channel for these cards as well.

The Let’s Party release will be available from June 17th from Catherine Pooler and other retailers.
