Hi and welcome back to my blog!
It’s my first blog post of 2021, and it’s fitting it’s about the Picket Fence Studios absolutely massive, and incredible, January release! Oooooh, you are going to be spoilt for choice here, so let’s dive right in! If you prefer to watch the YouTube video, you can find that HERE.
Of course there are a bunch of fun stamps too. Like this Aurora Borealis stamp!
There is a video coming to my Youtube channel for these cards, showing the different techniques I used to get the different results, with the same inks.
I’m not one for makeup in real life, I’m far too lazy for that, but on paper it’s fun! The Life Happens, Lashes Help set has these big, gorgeous eyes that are just begging to be ‘made up’ in a bold look!
I’m super excited about the Seeing Double Alpha die set too! I’ve been wishing for an alphabet set for ages and my wish was finally granted!! And it’s a THREE FOR ONE!!!
Each letter cuts out two pieces, so you can use them three ways basically. Either the skinny part alone, or the outliner part on it’s own, or layer them up and use both together for a chunky look. Genius!
There is, indeed, a video for this card in the making too! The little set in the photo is called Color Like A Bird Sings and has marker images, which I used for it. I coloured them all messy as my Copic markers are all in dire need of a spa day.
For all us crafty types, there are a couple of fun stamp sets with images and sentiments around crafting and friendship, like this one called Crafty Lifestyle. So many of those sentiments are things that I totally connect with!
I used the little envelope and stamped that up many, many times on a card base, and then used the little heart to add a bit of colour. Each row has two colours, gradually going rainbow.
I finished it off with another friendship stamp set called BFF Favorite Hello and then staged the card with the new Slim Line Rainbow Envelopes! These also come in Neutrals, and you get 14 in every pack.
The Vintage Apple stamp set I decided to colour with the no-line watercolour technique, using Fadeout Ink from Ink On 3, and Daniel Smitch water colours. I did film this process too, so there is indeed-e-o a video coming for this card too.
There is a coordinating diecut for this set too, but I didn’t actually use it for the finished card. I’ll show you the whole thing in the video, though.
This card is created with minimal stamping, in fact it’s only the sentiment is stamped and then heat embossed. The rest of the card is done with the Slim Line Diecutting System, the new Slim Line Tall Grass die, the Slim Line Raising Sun stencil and the new Fire Gems.
Well, that’s probably enough temptation for one day, wouldn’t you say? LOL! I will be back with YouTube videos and blog post in the next few days using all of these goodies, because I have gone a tad over the top… yet again.
Picket Fence Studios send me all these goodies to create samples with, as part of my DT duties, but I will only create with stuff that inspires me. I think it will be very evident this week that this release had my mojo running like mad! l have also used compensated affiliate links in this post, at no extra cost to you. Any earnings I get from these links go back into the running of my blog, YouTube channel and Instagram to keep things fresh and fun for you, so thank you if you shop using these links! I really appreciate the support!
Lots of love and happy crafting, and shopping!, from Erica
