Picket Fence Studios April Release!

Hi and welcome back to my blog!

It’s the 14th of the month, which means a new release from Picket Fence Studios! I’m quite excited about this one, as it’s full of add-ons to the Slim Line Diecutting System, including lots of big word dies. I love word dies, and these are gorgeous.

I started out by using the Scallop Frame Slim Line Diecutting System on a few of the many, many backgrounds I have made in many of my crafting frenzies. It was a great way to use some of these up. The first two I used the Celebrate word on, in different ways. On one, I added the Celebrate in black card stock and the other one I cut it out of the colourful background, and layered it up on black foam, for an eclipse look.

Both of these backgrounds are made with the Waves slim line stencil, and Distress Oxide inks in a rainbow fashion. from left to right: Mustard Seed, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean, Wilted Violet, Picked Raspberry and Abandoned Coral. I also used the scalloped rectangle dies on them to add more interest.

In this release there is another gorgeous Gem Mix, called Reflections, and I decided to use these as well as some of the other Gem mixes on one of the cards. These are matched up along the colours of the backgrounds, and I used a gem picker to adhered them.

On the second card I ink blended the colours in a different order, as well as added in an orange colour. I layered the Celebrate word die, that I had cut out of the background, on top of a black foam Celebrate. This is adhered slightly off-set to leave a shadow. On this card I only used the bigger scalloped die and no gem stones.

I also had a card base done with pink Copics, and on top of this I had used the Leaf stencil with Brown Dahlia and Pink Peony Paper Glaze. For this card I decided to use one of the sentiments from Fancy Daily Sentiments.

This I heat embossed in Copper and then I used the coordinating diecut on this, and I adhered this directly to the card.

I also had a slim line card made, with the Daisy Burst slim line stencil and the Slim Line Diecutting System, in pastel colours. For this I used the Big Happy Hugs die, on handmade shimmer card stock that I had made with Paper Glazes.

This looks fabulous, and you can use the Paper Glazes to make shimmer card stock in every colour you need.

To finish off this card I added some gems from the Reflections Gem Mix.

The only card I actually coloured for this post I made with the Cats Are Family stamp set. With the help of a Mini MISTI, I stamped the cat on top of the books, with the Black Hybrid ink on Copic friendly paper. I coloured these books in with rainbow colours, and did the cat with greys.

The final thing I did was stamp up the sentiment ‘Every day is another chance to get another cat‘. This card I left clean and simple, by leaving it as it was. Yes, shocker, I know! LOL!

With that I am done for today, but I do have a YouTube video over on my channel where you can see all of the new goodies and the cards up close.
