Happy Sunday my lovelies!
It’s shaping up to be a very busy time on the blog next week, and I haven’t figured out how to stop the automatic emails going out. Sorry about that. I am hoping to take some time to figure out some stuff and get that fixed, but knowing how great… good… ok, ok, utterly useless I am with technology, that might take a while.
It’s time for a new challenge over at Pinkfresh Studios, and if you took part in last month’s challenge, make sure to check the WINNER PAGE to see if you are one of the winners. This month the theme is Leaves & Greenery, and you can find the colours in the graphic above.
I don’t have any stand alone foliage or leaves dies from Pinkfresh, so I had to think outside of the box a little. After rifling through my stash, I settled on using the lovely Enchanting Meadows layering stencils. These fab stencils also have coordinating dies, which is so freaking brilliant!
I used Blue Jay, Grassy Knoll, Lemon Whip, Marigold and Ballet Slipper for the ink blending of the image. Although I actually covered up the flowers I used Ballet Slipper on with gold gel pen. It just didn’t look quite right with pink on this one for some reason.
For the sentiment I cut out the Lots Of Love word dies out of satin shimmer gold card stock, from Tonic Studios. They don’t actually carry this colour, Honey Gold, anymore, which I’m so sad about. It’s lovely! These were added to the diecut directly. I found a great little hack as I was fiddling with the pieces too! I flipped the word die upside down, popped all the bits back into their little slot, added adhesive and then I pressed the image down on top of it to place them perfectly onto it! I should have filmed it, but oh well, next time.
The background is done by layering up the two pieces in the Diamond Plaid Stencils on top of each other and then blending whatever was left of Blue Jay and Grassy Knoll on my blender brushes. This piece was then trimmed down a little and adhered to a white card base. The greenery image, that was layered up with one white piece and two black ones for a bit of a shadow, was then added on top and voilà!
Ok, so that’s it from me for today, but now it’s your turn! You can win a $50 gift voucher to the Pinkfresh Studio shop if you win, so what are you waiting for??
I have, as always, used some compensated affiliate links in this post, at no extra cost to you. If you get inspired enough by my creations, I’d be so grateful if you’d use my affiliate links when you shop. I completely understand it’s not always possible, but I promise I am not taking it for granted if you do. Thank you so much for your support, and continued encouragement, I truly appreciate it!
Lots of love and happy crafting from Erica
