This week I was roped into doing another Facebook Live session in the Stamp Nation FB group. And by ‘roped in’ I mean volunteered, lol! This has become a fun way to play with the new release and I hope we will keep doing it! The Flutters & Blooms release will be available tomorrow!
Before the event I had already stamped up a few and even made one complete card, but then *SHOCK, HORROR* I ran out of tape runner! Oh, the drama! I have some liquid adhesive but I don’t like how it warps the card stock so I just set aside all my panels until new tape runners arrived.
Each one has three shades of the same colour family to create the Thanks, stamped in a sideways ombré way. This is so easy with the help of a MISTI, which I am totally useless without. On each new colour I have gone over the ink-line with a blender brush to soften it, as I didn’t want hard, harsh lines where the new ink came in.
During the live I tried some other colour combinations and one that was a total surprise was the Unicorn Hair one! This combo I sort of stumbled into by seeing the shades on the stamp from doing other colours. To create the look, I started with It’s A Boy, then overlapped that with It’s A Girl and then added a little bit of Be Mine to add some darker pink at the top of the stamp.
Another one that was a revelation was this one!
The yellow/orange/red one was actually a mistake, albeit a happy one! I mis-remembered which colour I used on this and picked the wrong one.
It should have been Orange Peel but I used Mandarin Spice, which was a lot darker but gave the Thanks a great look! I finished this one off by stamping ‘from the bottom of my heart‘ in Rockin’ Red over the S.
I decided to use Juniper Mist on the one I made during the Facebook live session instead, and it actually ended up with some turquoise bits on it as well. The new one got the sentiment stamped up on it as well, with Midnight ink.
Well, that’s plenty enough jibber-jabbering from me. I hope you have found some inspiration here with me today.
